CD Release Party May 9, 2008

I got so drunk at the show that I am not sure I remember most of it. What really sticks in my mind is that the people I thought were my buddies left me in some random parking lot in the University District. A, C, and M are not on my friends list right now.

The show was fun. There were a couple cute women there. AMY, SEAN, and RILEY rocked like usual.

If I owe anyone an apology for something I may have said that I don't remember, Sorry.

Emerald City Comic-Con

Saturday and Sunday is going to be a Comic Book Convention at the WA State Convention Center in Downtown Seattle. They have a nicely expanded panel section this year. And of course dealers will be hawking their wares. Come and have fun.

I will be attending on Saturday. My brother flies in that night and we will be doing family stuff on Sunday.

CD Release Party May 9, 2008

At the Blue Moon this Friday is a Party. Not only is it Amy and Riley's birthday, Indecisive Rhythm is releasing a CD. It looks like it will be a fun party. Check out myspace.com for more details.

Free Comic Book Day May 3, 2008

Today is Free Comic Book Day. Comic book shops give out some free comic books today. I think this is the 3rd or 4th annual event. Comic book companies print out some special comics for the day. Shops give out some overstock.

I am in the movie theater. I thought I was going to see Matt in the theater but since I did not run into him, I am going to a second movie. Which means that I will probably miss Free Comic Book Day. Depending on how long the second movie is depends on whether I will make it to the shop. I managed to make it to the comic book shop. I picked up a free comic for my father.

Pre Movie: Harold and Kumar 2

I am going to sneak into the movie. I paid to watch IRON MAN.  I like to watch two movies for my dollars. I have the day off.

The first movie was hilarious. The poster asking what would NPH do is great. NPH = Neil Patrick Harris.

IRON MAN

I watched the 12:15 showing at Pacific Place in Auditorium 3. Good crowd in the theatre. I sat 3 or 4 rows back. Good movie. Enough humor especially with the guy from "The New Adventures of Old Christine", who worked for Strategic Homeland Information Enforcement Logistics Department (I think that is the words they used for SHIELD).

Jim Rhodes was good. And we did get the homage to WAR MACHINE.  "Next time, baby."

Stane was the main villain in the movie which was good. They kind of killed him off so I doubt he will make a reappearance. Which is kind of bad. They allude to his demise but they don't say he died. I guess he could come back but it is very doubtful. In the comic books he took over Stark Industries and made it Stane Industries. I was hoping for something like that. Stark then rebuilt Stark Industries and eventually bought out Stane Industries from under Stane. Putting Stane in a suit was a good idea. The end battle was well done.

Especially important was the fact that Tony left one of the bad guys to the crowd of villagers that the villain was going to kill the men and take the women and children.  Tony killed a lot of people while in the suits and did not seem to shy away from the death of people for a comic book movie.

Definitely not a movie for children. It had sex, alcohol, and death. But it was a guy in a suit of armor which made it BAD ASS.

SHO Party March 25, 2007

Random SHO party with several people that may not be working at SPL anymore. But still a lot of people from the library are still there.

Lamont's House Warming

One of the Librarians in my department had a 6 month house warming party recently. I attended, got a little non-sober, and had some fun. One of the pages, Ryan, in HTM, was there with his fiance Mary.

Comet Tavern 02/15/2007

Ripspacer was on first. Pretty Good band. Nice intro to the night. Not as loud as the last band but not quiet either.

I don't really remember much about them because I was watching the Lakers play the Cavaliers on the television. I think the Cavaliers ended up winning because of some random calls by the officials.

Indecisive Rhythm was up second. It is always good to see Amy play. Riley and Sean are good to see too. I don't have much experience watching Riley play. I think this was the second time I saw Riley play bass with the band. Riley brings some good energy to the group.

Steel Tigers of Death were extremely loud. I find it odd that the three front guys wore white shirts and ties. Interesting look for a loud rock band. Pretty good beats but I could not really understand the lyrics. I don't know if it was the music drowning out the singing or just not very good singing.

That is my take on the show.

Raiders versus Seahawks

I went to the preseason football game of the Raiders versus the Seahawks at Qwest Field here in Seattle, WA USA.

I was so bitter about all the things the Raiders were doing wrong that I did not enjoy it as much as I could have.

Plus the $7.50 bottles of Bud light did not help. Who the hell comes up with charging 10 times the amount for a beer. That is just ridiculus. Or is it ridiculus that the people can get beer for less than that at the store. Should alcohol be that expensive? (PERSONALLY, HELL NO!!) Maybe there is a reason that no one can really comprehend.

Oh, back to the game. End Score: Seahawks 30 Raiders 7

The Raiders looked real good until the offense took the field. A punt return for a touchdown in the first minute of the game. What could go wrong? THE RAIDERS OFFENSE.

I have no idea what quarterback wears #2 but at least you were better than #16. Spiking the ball on a 3rd and 15 in the first half? Throw it over someone's head downfield. Don't spike it.

Oh well, at least I went to the game. The game was fun for Seahawks fans.

August 4, 2006 Concert at The Comet on Pike

Jupiter Crash
Indecisive Rhythm
Whiskey Tango

3 bands playing tonight. $5.00 dollar cover charge.

Jupiter Crash was really good. Loud and heavy with a good rhythm. The kind of music I really enjoy.

My friends play in Indecisive Rhythm. I like their sound as well.

I am writing this while Jupiter Crash is still on stage.

August 4, 2006 Seafair Friday

I went to my first Seafair today. It was very hot and the bus trip took forever. I walked a lot and got my head all burned. I had bad sight lines for the air show which is why I went. I could not get good photos of the planes as they flew overhead. I took one or two and missed the photos I should have been taking. It was too hot and I was carrying around too much weight in my backpacks. I had my laptop in one bag and a bunch of water bottles in the other bag. I did find a nice grassy knoll later in the day that I sat at for a while. That was fine. I even was able to get a wireless signal. I also figured out what Mount Baker bus route 14 means. There is a Mount Baker neighborhood in Seattle. Now that I know, I can ride the 14 down there on my days off. Being that there is a place to swim with lifeguards and it is free, I expect to go down there on my days off. One bus down there and one bus back home is a definete can do. I can put my bus pass to good use rather than just going to and from work.
